apparantly there is such a thing as wild boars...

heyhey,
yeppers what a weekend it has been. started off on friday night with evangelism in the square. It was pretty cool I am totally realizing how small this world is. What are the odds that I go to the ends of the earth and meet someone i have met before. Anyways so there was this guy who i met and i was like hey are you canadian and he was like ya eh. and turns out i had met him a few years back when i had went to this thing in kelowna BC...called avalanche and ya he knew some of the people that i knew. karazy eh....anyways ya he helped sing and he was rock awesome at guitar.

oh for those of you who don't know...each friday night we go to this square in Christchurch...which is right beside the famous cathedral. and ya we do free henna, we sing, we play sports and we also do art and like we spread out this big piece of paper and we write quesions like 'who are you?' 'who is jesus?' and others and its cool cuz random people stop and paint and write their thoughts down.

Anyways so that was a good night. and so the next morning i woke up pretty early and i went with a group of people to basically the site that narnia was filmed. but not the exact place becuz people arent allowd to go to the exact place cuz it is actually on private property. anyways so there was this bouldering competition...cuz liek there are these huge boulder rock monstrous things. and ya there was this competition. and so we handed out free food and such and ya just walked around climbed big rocks and such. and i almost walked off a cliff, that was pretty much the funnest thing ever.

after that the girls that had came and the guys that had came split up. and the girls drove around to find a camp site. cuz we were on this thing called vision weekend where we were supposed to go camp alone and spend time with God for a night. we so we finally found a good place and the only things we had to eat were couscous and beans. so we used these little burner things to make this food and ya it was amazing. we had no utensils either so i found a rock. it was great and then me and this girl laura we were gonna camp near eachother just incase we got deadly cold. and so we walked for about an hour and found the perfect place. we set up and everything and then we went on our ways to spend time alone. oh yes i forgot to mention that in order to get to our campsite we cross a stream/waterfall thing that was so beautiful and had it been warmer i might have bathed in it. but anyways ya also we were standing together and then this man with a gun walks by. and i was like what on earth? and im like nice gun, and hes like ya i'm hunting for wild boars. and he said this with a smile and so we figured he was pulling our legs and making the foreigners nervous. cuz we are clearly foreigners.

so i made my way down this hill and ya i found a spot to sit. and ya it started to get dark and i was like oh no maybe i need to head back. and i was completely lost. and so i was like oh man i walked straight up through this bush and ya i got all scratched up but finally i made it to the path and i made it back to my camp site.

oh and we didnt actually set up the tent cuz we wanted to sleep outside so we decided that if it actually rained we would just get in the tent. and ya lie in it out of the rain. well anyways so later we both got settled into bed. and ya we were in bed for about an hour and then it started to sprinkle. well sprinkle lead to a down pour. oh and also i had forgotten my sleeping bag so i just had 2 little yellow sheets. and ya we were ok for a while and then we got really cold and wet. and we were like this sucks so we were gonna pack up our stuff and walk back to the vans and sleep there. and so we ended up leaving half of our stuff to walk back. well keep in mind that we are in the middle of a pitch black forest and we have 2 little flash lights and it took us like an hour in the light. so ya we start walking and its pouring rain we are getting so soaked and then we get to the waterfall thing taht we had to walk across that was fun in the pitch black of night. ya and we ended up getting lost and wandering the wrong way so we finally got back to the van unscathed. but i was completely soaked.

so ya we spooned in the van to keep warm. but it was pretty fun. and so in the morning we had to walk back for our camp that was great fun . i think i enjoyed walking at night better cuz ya. you only looked a step in front of you ya know? you only focused on the one step.

and i have been really struggling with what on earth i am gonna do after DTS, and God jsut told me that its ok he holds my future. like i just really need to follow that one little flash of light and ya its when i start to look around with my flash light and look to far ahead is when i fall. so i really just need to focus on the now ya know?

anyways turns out that their are wild boars in the bush and they can be up to 400pds, and like ya some other hunters came and were gonna go hunting. thankfully we didnt run into them.
